WELCOME TO POSTCARD

Post Card Brewing Co. was founded in 2015, brewing our own beers when there was a production gap at the contract brewing company.

With a few moves and extended closure we shut down the contract brewing company at the end of 2018 and then spent a year looking for a new home.

In March 2020, just before lockdown, we found one. Our equipment was brought to Farrington’s Pub in Rathcoffey, Co. Kildare where we spent most of 2020 and half of 2021 setting up the brewery.

Not only did we see this as a new opportunity to relaunch our brand, but we also got to revisit some of our favourite recipes – renaming The Hazy Moose to Poolbeg Haze, and try some quirky new ones.

Since the relaunch in 2021 we’ve been brewing up a storm and have launched a Pale Ale and IPA heavy core range ever since. We love making beers that we love to drink - without compromise; from our core range of hoppy pale ales and IPAs to our seasonals and special releases.

We are just getting started and looking forward to make more quality beers for you to enjoy.

A BREWING HISTORY

Post Card Brewing was established in 2015 by co-owner Jonathan Spielberg. Most of the brewing that was done in the beginning focused on contract brewing customers, some were the most popular craft breweries in Dublin. After a quick start we decided to expand our facility and move from Broombridge to Ballycoolin where we met with one unforeseen delay after another, This shut down the brewery down for nearly 18 months while we moved in and set things back up. When we opened up again it was with a whimper, having lost most of our contract brewing customers we eventually closed down the company in late 2018.

We spent most of 2019 trying to figure out if we wanted to relaunch the company or just sell the equipment. It was in the beginning of March 2020 when we were selling off our cold room to Gar Whelan from Sprout Farm in Rathcoffey Co. Kildare, that we were given a great opportunity to move the brewery into Farrington’s Pub that Gar had there out on the farm in Rathcoffey.

We spent the next year of lockdown expanding the pub and building the brewery and obtaining the needed licenses to brew with Revenue. Now the sole proprietor of a newly formed Post Card Brewing, Jonathan Spielberg was onsite most of lockdown while the construction was going on, doing whatever he could to keep busy selling veg for the farm, working behind the bar; all the time patiently waiting for the day when the brewery would reopen.

Finally in August of 2021 Post Card Brewing was up and running again in Farrington’s Brewpub and Restaurant. With fully relaunched branding of more famous Dublin locales, all the beer cans feature paintings from local Clontarf artist and Jonathan’s wife, Sarah Mage. The watercolour artwork has become synonymous with the brand, especially Post Card’s most popular beer “Poolbeg Haze NEIPA.”
